A long proud history

For more than three decades, Morrissey & Co has participated in Beef Australia.

"Beef allows us to engage directly with our core clientele in the pastoral industry. This platform not only helps us gather valuable insights into the challenges and successes faced by our customers but also drives innovation within our product line."

Established in 1910, Morrissey & Co is a family-owned business in Jandowae, 260km northwest of Brisbane, within the Western Downs Regional Council area of Queensland.

Morrissey & Co pioneered the original steel Calf Branding Cradle and was the first company in Australia to manufacture stainless steel branding irons. The company was also at the forefront of Australian cattle crush development with the original Morrissey Cattle Crush in the 1960s.

"My father stopped making crushes because of the demand for calf cradles. Now that we have more labour and room we are rejoining the cattle crush market.

"Our product range is distinguished by its high quality and durability, featuring innovative yet simple designs that ensure ease of use and longevity, which make our equipment indispensable to cattle producers."

Today the company is proudly operated by the fourth and fifth generations of the Morrissey family, with Sean and Christine Morrissey representing the fourth generation, while the fifth generation includes their children John, Tom and Sally Morrissey.
