IN less than a month, Australia's mango industry will gather to both challenge and celebrate a sector that has experienced substantial growth in the past decade.
The Cairns Convention Centre will host the three-day 13th Australian Mango Conference from May 21 to 23, which provide attendees with the latest project updates, expert insights and innovative practices.
Under a theme of "connect, inspire, innovate", the event will provide:
- presentations from industry leaders;
- panels discussing the latest trends and challenges;
- a gala dinner to celebrate the Australian mango industry;
- an informative tradeshow;
- an immersive field day.
Kicking off the experience will be the scientific symposium Monday, May 20.
This precursor to the main conference is regarded as an essential gathering for those interested in the cutting-edge scientific advancements shaping the industry's future.
While the main program is still being locked down some of the major topics will include driving consumer demand, research and development updates, workforce challenges, exports, sustainability and quality assurance.
The Australian Mango Industry Association will also hold its annual general meeting on the second day of the program.
One of the main social outings will be the gala dinner and awards on the evening of the second day.
Field visits to key mango-related businesses will take place on the final day to round out the conference.
